Valley Fest returns, bringing with it a stellar line-up and first-class food…
Valley Fest, the best-tasting music festival in the South West, showcases the region’s finest produce – from charcuterie to cheddars and ciders to sausages – with plenty of Somerset style and sizzle.
It’s held between 2 – 4 August along Chew Valley Lake in Somerset. Spread across one gently-sloping meadow, the event is perfect for food lovers, first-time festival goers, plus young and maturing families.
Razorlight and Tom Odell are on the bill. There are DJ sets from Basement Jaxx and Leftfield, plus Stealing Sheep, The Magic Numbers, Nubiyan Twist, Henge and many more acts.
Now in its fifth year, Valley Fest’s line-up has always included some big names as well as plenty of rising stars. And the consistently biggest crowd pleaser of all: the view. Chew Valley Lake provides the sparkling backdrop that is edged by the rolling Mendip hills.
Everyone is advised to arrive hungry because food is just as important as the music. So the line-up includes: feasts from Josh Eggleton, owner of Michelin starred Pony & Trap and Rob Howell, head chef at Root in Bristol; regionally-sourced tapas served all day in the Tipis (pictured) from the Annie Coplestone of the Monmouth Table – Annie used to work at Moro, River Cottage and River Cafe; Boozy brunches from the Yeo Valley Canteen and the Riverford Field Kitchen and street food galore!
This festival on a farm has plenty of treats, beats and things to eat! Expect hedge-to-hedge Somerset sparkle and plenty of nonsense with a spectacular soundtrack. This is West Country wildness at its best.
