The Downs is giving you the Friday Feeling this Bank Holiday

Keep your eyes peeled for the hidden letters for a chance to win tickets...

It’s a ticket competition, but not as you know it; organisers of The Downs Bristol are all set to give away tickets to this year’s festival, using the popular Twitter hashtag #FridayFeeling.

However it won’t be as straightforward as a simple retweet, potential winners will need to venture out into Bristol in order to find the 13 hidden letters that spell out ‘Friday Feeling,’ and return them to Cascade Steps to reunite the phrase, winning a pair of tickets for each letter returned.

Clues and images of the oversized letters will be posted on the festival’s social channels on Friday 25th August @TheDownsBristol on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

The Downs festival, which returns on Saturday 2nd September for the second year features the likes of Elbow, Seasick Steve, De La Soul, Soul II Soul, Groove Armada and recently announced Mike Skinner and Ibibio Sound Machine. This year The Information Stage will cover a diverse range of topics, with the likes of Ken Loach, Akala, Suhaiymah Mazoor-Kahn, Heydon Prowse, Jolyon Rubenstein and Vanessa Kisuule all taking to the stage to engage in positive debate.

If you’re your way home on Friday and just happen to see a massive ‘R’ or maybe an ‘L’ hidden in a bush, behind a tree, or in a coffee shop window, don’t just treat it as a weird quirk. Grab it and get yourself down to Cascade Steps. It’s the perfect way to kick off the bank holiday in Bristol.

The Downs Festival is presented by Team Love and Crosstown Concerts and returns to Bristol for the second consecutive year on Saturday September 2nd.  Tickets are priced at £45.00 plus booking fee and are available from, and

All online ticket sales will be subject to a £1 donation with funds going directly to the upkeep and maintenance of The Downs, for all of Bristol to enjoy.
