Bristol’s much-loved night market is back to celebrate the turn of the seasons.
Visitors can expect the usual selection of world-class street food, live music and shopping, but this time there is the added option of booking a place to sit.
When? Friday 11th October, 5pm–10pm
Where? The market takes place in and around St Nicholas Market. Table bookings in The Harbour Hotel’s Sansovino Room.
The night market has always been, and remains a free event, but it does cost money to run. To help meet rising costs, sponsors Bristol Harbour Hotel have loaned the Night Market their stunning Sansovino Room to raise funds. Market-goers can book themselves a ticket at a table for £7 plus booking fee (or £65 for a table of 10) and this will include a glass of Prosecco, live DJs, a private bar, and of course somewhere to sit with your friends and family and enjoy all the food and drink on offer!
The first 225 tickets sold get free entry into the exclusive after party in the Radnor Rooms, hosted and powered by Minirig! All proceeds will help to pay for the event. Find out more and book your ticket here.
With or without a ticket, visitors will be able to enjoy the amazing street food. St Nicholas Street is playing host to street food served from vehicles, including the amazing Crumpeteers (what could be more autumnal than tea and hot crumpets?), the oyster and seafood caravan Winkle Picker, the taco truck The Little Taquero, a veggie and vegan Neapolitan-style pizza van, a Sri Lankan food van and more.
Corn Street will be offering so many delicious options, including Gurt Wings (think local free-range chicken wings and strips with tater tots covered in homemade chicken salt), Alp Mac with their award winning four-cheese and grilled macaroni cheese, Indonesian, Indian, Persian, Jamaican, American, Tibetan, Cuban cuisines, and a first for the market, the Hogless Roast – yes, that’s a hog roast without the hog!
There will be plenty of drinks to wash all that down with too. Sponsors Butcombe Brewery will be hosting a bar on Corn Street, while Espensen Spirits will be serving up autumnal cocktails, Dick Willows will have his legendary mulled cider, More Wine will have their delicious organic wines and The Crown, Mr Wolf’s and Boardroom will be serving drinks all night – don’t forget to bring your reusable cups with you – you can use cups that aren’t from the night market too!
The traders in the Glass Arcade and Exchange Hall will be open as usual, offering a brilliant opportunity to buy all the local food and products on offer. There will also be live music and top DJs in and around the market, with a carefully curated line-up that will be announced closer to the time.
Event organiser Lorna Knapman said: “We are really excited to be able to offer the option of booking a seat or table. We all know the market can get very busy, and this way we can offer a place to sit while raising some much needed funds to keep the market going at the same time. We are really looking forward to welcoming everyone back to this magic event.”
