The sun is shining and it’s finally starting to get warm! With the Easter holidays fast approaching, it’s time to start planning some fun days out with the kids. Bristol Zoo Gardens and Wild Place Project both have plenty on the keep everyone entertained – read on to see what fun events they have planned!

Easter at Bristol Zoo

Enchanted Easter at Wild Place Project

Join Wild Place Project this Easter for two whole weeks of family fun! Embark on a magical adventure through the Enchanted Woodland, hang your wish in the Magic Wishing Tree, help the fairies find their missing Easter eggs, and meet some of your favourite animals from around the world. http://www.wildplace.org.uk/whats-on

Sunday 8th April

Gorge-ous spring plants (Walk) – Avon Gorge

The Avon Gorge is internationally important for its rare and interesting plants. Discover spring-flowering rarities on a scramble around the gorge with local botanist Libby Houston.

10.30am – 12.30pm,  £5.00

Sunday 15th April

Early birds and bacon butties walk (with a veggie option) – Bristol Downs

Go on an early morning walk with bird expert Michael Johnson. After learning how to identify birds on the Downs, it’s back to the Zoo for a spot of breakfast.

6.00am – 8.30am Note the early start time!

Saturday 5th May

An introduction to sketching plants (Course) – Bristol Downs

Bring a sketchbook, pencil and pens, and join artist Katharina Nyilas for a walk and sketch on the Downs. Along the way, learn techniques for making beautiful drawings of wildflowers and trees.

9.30am – 12.30pm,  £10.00

Friday 25th May 

Music with Mummy on the Downs (Event for 15 months to 4 year olds) – Bristol Downs

Let’s make some melodious music in the meadow on the Downs. Decorate and play a shaker, sing, dance and meet some wildlife puppets with Fiona from Music with Mummy (daddy, granny or any other responsible adults are allowed!).

10.00am – 11.00am,  £4.00 per child.

Thursday 31st May

Tree-mendous fun (Children’s event for 8 – 12 year olds) – Bristol Downs

Spend the morning having tree-mendous fun finding out about trees on the Downs. During the afternoon you’ll be printing your very own leaf pattern t-shirt.

Drop off children at 10am and pick them up at 3.30pm.

£15.00 per child.

Alice in Wonderland – Wild Place Project
