The money will go towards vital services that The Grand Appeal provide
Schmidt Kitchens, based on Whiteladies Road, recently met with the team at The Grand Appeal for a cheque presentation in Bristol Children’s Hospital.
The money will be used by The Grand Appeal to help support an extensive arts, music and play programme, home-from-home family accommodation and other vital services that The Grand Appeal provide.
The money was raised during December, when Schmidt Kitchens Bristol utilised their 24 cabinet carcass units on display in their kitchen and interiors solution showroom, with the aim of giving something back to their local community.
The 24 ‘boxes’ mounted on the showroom wall lent themselves perfectly to the concept of an advent calendar. Working with local suppliers, businesses and customers, each day was ‘sponsored’ with a donation and by Christmas Eve a total of £1,720 had been raised. Each day, a ‘box’ was opened to reveal a contribution.
Maxine Moustrides, Corporate Fundraiser at The Grand Appeal commented, “what an inspiring and unique way to fundraise at Christmas. The money raised by Schmidt will make the world of difference to sick and injured children and their families from across the entire South West.”
Marielle Medaets, MD of Schmidt Bristol, is now planning to make this an annual event. “Big thanks go to our local community for supporting this fundraiser. Watch this space for another one!”
