The change will provide greater choice and flexibility for parents
Harcourt pre-school, an Ofsted-rated ‘outstanding’ school (December 2018) in Westbury Park, Bristol, is now offering all-year-round entrance for children starting at the setting.
The teachers and staff at Harcourt have recognised the need to offer staggered starting dates for new children as it enables parents to send their children to pre-school when they and their family are ready. This change will allow parents more flexibility and will likely improve the wellbeing of the pupils attending.
The pre-school, based in St Alban’s Church Hall though run independently from the church, is a co-operative, non-profit-making organisation and strives to provide excellent, quality childcare in a safe and stimulating environment. It believes that pre-school should be fun, and should support a child’s developmental journey resulting in a smooth, happy transition to their chosen primary school.
The pre-school has formed links with local schools throughout the many years that it has been running, with Ofsted commenting that, “Staff consistently promote children’s self-esteem and confidence. The children are exceptionally well prepared for the next stage in their learning and the eventual move on to school.” (Ofsted report 2018)
Open times (term-time): Monday to Thursday 9am–3.15 | Friday 9am–12pm
