Outdoor learning at Clifton High

Clifton High School prides itself on its outdoor classroom

Clifton High School’s Nursery and Reception Departments are a key part of its 3–18 co-educational community. The Nursery School and Reception staff are highly experienced and place strong emphasis on exploration, investigation, discovery and problem solving, through teaching and free-play activities.

Situated in large and light classrooms within handsome Victorian buildings on the edge of Clifton Village, the EYFS department makes use of its own outdoor classroom as part of its on-site forest school provision. The school encourages the children to make the most of the outdoor teaching space, nurturing in each child not only an appreciation for the environment but also providing the opportunity for imagination, key social interactions and responsibility.

Clifton High children and staff welcome families looking to join its Nursery and Reception classes, to its ‘Autumnal Stay and Play’ on Thursday 9th November at 9.00am. Due to the nature of activities on offer, places are limited and can be arranged by contacting our Admissions Department: admissions@cliftonhigh.bristol.sc.uk   |   0117 933 9087
