Moor Beer for 10th Birthday Party

City-wide 'I Want Moor Fest' celebrates anniversary

Bristol-based brewery Moor Beer is celebrating its 10th anniversary with the ‘I Want Moor Fest’, which takes place from the 15th — 18th June across the city.

The festival starts on the national Beer Day Britain on 15th June, where BOX-E, Wapping Wharf’s high-end restaurant, will collaborate with Moor Beer to craft a beer pairing six-course tasting menu.

Then a bowling and beer warm-up at The Lanes will follow on the Friday night, before Saturday night’s main event where headline acts, the seminal Basque punk band Berri Txarrak and punk band X-State Ride, will perform at the Exchange. They will be joined by local DJs and bands, including Bridgewater’s The Splash.

As a festival exclusive and tribute to a decade of brewing success, Moor Beer has created two special edition brews in collaboration with the headline acts. With Berri Txarrak it presents ‘Do It Together’, a refreshing Mango Tea Pale Ale, and X-State Ride inspires a highly drinkable IPA, ‘Comrade Games’.

Both beers will be available exclusively to punters at the festival.

A line-up of other Bristol breweries, such as Lost & Grounded and Arbor, will join Moor Beer at its Tap Room and the Exchange, as a nod to the city’s thriving brewing scene.

Also on offer will be a selection of hand-picked beers rarely seen in the UK. Festivalgoers will be able to enjoy everything from traditional sour Italian varieties to cask Franconian beers, as well as leading light varieties from around Europe.

Food will also be available, with Ah Mah Dumplings, Underdogs and Smoke Catering, just some of the vendors present.

Justin Hawke, owner and head brewer at Moor Beer, said: “After a decade of hard work, the ‘I Want Moor Fest’ is a chance for us to celebrate with friends and fans of flavoursome natural beers. This event is a reflection of us – dedicated to fantastic beer, good food and great music, all perfectly at home in Bristol. It’s been an incredible 10 years and we are looking forward to ‘Moor’!”

The beer festival is free for all; however tickets must be purchased to attend the concert on Saturday 17th June and are available from the Exchange. For the beer pairing tasting menu at BOX-E on Thursday 15th June spaces are limited and costs £60pp. For more information about the rest of the festival please visit Moor Beer’s website.

For those looking for a place to stay, The Lanes is offering beds as part of its backpacker’s hostel.
