Job title: Sales & Marketing Director

Years in Bristol: 22

What does your job entail, day to day?

I oversee the Sales Team and our Estate Agency partners on all developments. This includes managing new sales and ensuring a smooth Customer Journey for all clients. I also work closely with the rest of the Management Team to deliver the developments we are planning for the future.

What’s your favourite thing about working in the property industry?

No two days are ever the same! I could be pricing and helping to design a new scheme or spot checking Build quality before we hand over a client’s new home. Today I’m finalising the brochure for our new development Isabella Gardens but tomorrow I’ll be in my hard hat and steelies looking in a trench.

Tell us the best part of your job?

Having total confidence in the Quality of our new homes. We’re a local family run business and every team member is focussed on the delivery of Quality and Value For Money for the client. With everyone encouraged to give input – from development and home design to items of specification – there’s a sense of collaboration and respect for ideas you’d be pushed to find elsewhere.

Favourite place in Bristol?

I love the atmosphere and self-sufficient air of Chipping Sodbury but probably The Ivy in Clifton!

What, in your opinion, makes Chipping Sodbury such a great place to live?

The beautiful High St, independent boutiques & eateries and the generous community spirit. There’s also a fantastic Sports scene, from Saturday morning’s free Park Run to cricket and tennis. I love that you can leave the car and walk to all the local amenities or explore the gorgeous surrounding countryside.

Job title: Director

Years in Bristol: 4.5

What does your job entail, day to day?

We’re transforming the historic former Filton Airfield – the birthplace of Concorde and supersonic travel – into Brabazon: a thriving new neighbourhood for Bristol.

This local landmark is steeped in history.
Our job is to live up to the legacy of that pioneering past. That means building houses that are proper homes: spacious, warm and welcoming. And our vision is to create a new urban community, where you will be able to wander around independent stores, discover new restaurants, or relax in the biggest new urban public park in the region for 50 years!

What’s your favourite thing about working in the property industry?

I love the fact that we’re looking to build a more sustainable future. In Bristol, we face a housing crisis, but also a climate emergency. That means we need to build more sustainable homes, and build them in the right place.

At Brabazon, we’re building a new community where over 85% of our homes to date are rated A for energy performance. We’re building on brownfield land along major public transport corridors, helping to preserve the green belt. And there’s over £100m being invested in local transport, with a new rail station – connecting to Bristol Temple Meads in less than 15 minutes – and a dedicated MetroBus service both anticipated to be running by 2024.

Tell us the best part of your job?

As the birthplace of Concorde, North Bristol is recognised worldwide for the collective spirit of a community that changed the world. The best part of my job is seeing that community coming together again at Brabazon.

Whether it’s seeing residents move into their dream new home or contributing to social events, it’s great to see the next generation shaping the future again in North Bristol. And with more projects in the pipeline – including reimagining the historic aircraft Hangar 16U into a new local social hub – it’s clear that the new community is set to go from strength to strength.

Favourite place in Bristol?

Whether it’s the incredible success of the inland surfing lake The Wave, the amazing exhibits at Aerospace Bristol, or taking the family out for food at Mollie’s Diner, I personally love North Bristol.  And with Bristol Zoo relocating to their Wild Place Project park and of course the incredible YTL Arena Bristol also coming soon, this is set to be the most exciting new city district in the South West.

What, in your opinion, makes Bristol such a great place to live?

Bristol is a city that has always pushed the boundaries. It’s a place for enjoyment and entertaining. A centre of learning and a launchpad for business. A hub for industry and invention, with a beating social heart. Why would you want to be anywhere else?
