How important is it to have seating around your kitchen island?
Due to the popularity of seating at the kitchen island, the way a kitchen functions has changed drastically. A room that was once used solely to cook food, usually alone, has now become a room for socialising, dining and entertaining. Therefore, The Kitchen Partners would say, if possible, include seating and make the island the focal point.
Think of it this way – if the kitchen is ‘the heart of the home’, the island is what keeps that heart beating. It’s a meeting point, a “how was your day” debrief, a place for wine tasting and food sampling. You name it; it’ll be done at your kitchen island.
