One of Bristol’s best cocktail bars has a new menu, and we can’t wait to try it…
Bristol’s original speakeasy bar, Hyde & Co , has launched an ambitious new cocktail menu, Midnight in Paris, in follow up to their award winning 2017 menu, The Last Carnival.
After a hugely successful 2017, which saw Hyde & Co win Bristol’s Best Bar at the inaugural Crumbs awards as well as a finalist position in the prestigious Imbibe awards for Best Avant Garde Cocktail Menu, the team are yet again pushing boundaries in the city’s drinks scene with the launch of their brand new cocktail menu, Midnight in Paris.
Set in 1920’s Paris, Midnight in Paris is a visually stunning concept menu, telling the tale of private detective Kinsey Moran as he unravels the mystery of a jewel heist in the French capital, all through the medium of cocktails. With a story and artwork created specially for Hyde & Co, Midnight in Paris has been designed to encourage drinkers to try something new and exciting, whilst showcasing the award winning talents of the team.
Building on the story and style of Hyde & Co’s last cocktail menu, Midnight in Paris combines a unique, creative cocktail menu alongside a series of stunning pieces of Art Nouveau artwork, created especially for the menu by local designer and bartender Gareth Aldridge.
Speaking about the creative process that went into the menu, Bar Manager Dan Bovey says:
“We were completely overwhelmed with the reaction to our last menu so were very excited to take on the challenge of creating a menu which lived up to it!
“Everyone loved the glitz and glamour of the last menu, so 1920’s Paris was the obvious choice for the story and when it came to the cocktails we wanted to create a menu which reflected the style of drinking, using timeless French ingredients such as Calvados, Cognac, and Vermouths, whilst taking inspiration from the French classics like the French 75, Sidecar and Kir Royale.”
Midnight in Paris is now available at Hyde & Co Tuesday – Sunday from 6pm – late.
