The popular waterside restaurant has had a make-over – and has an exciting new menu to match...
Las Iguanas on Bristol’s Harbourside is celebrating after undergoing a refurbishment. The quirky restaurant décor update reflects the Bristol team’s most recent travels to South America. Guests can enjoy a refreshing space and a bigger bar for speedier cocktails – expect a backdrop of sunshine shades; sky blue, turquoise and a flash of neon here and there. As spring finally arrives, the big piazza is the perfect spot to take a break and watch the world pass by, whilst discovering the big, bold Latin flavours on the menu.
Dishes at Las Iguanas are carefully developed and made from scratch by a team of skilled chefs – discover unique flavours and inspiring recipes from across Latin America brought to life through high quality, fresh ingredients. New seasonal dishes currently making their mark on the menu include Ipanema mussels – cooked in a lightly spiced lime, coriander and coconut sauce and served with ciabatta and Seco de Cordero – Peruvian style slow cooked lamb shank in a golden ale, red wine and Amarillo chilli sauce, served with roasted sweet potato mash and crispy chilli and onions. A popular vegetarian dish from Peru is the Cauliflower and Corn Quinotto – a quinoa risotto with smoked cheese, roasted cauliflower and charred baby corn, topped with puffed quinoa and crispy chilli.
If there’s room for dessert, try a Banana Empanada – a traditional pastry hand- filled with banana, sweet plantain and dulce de leche served with vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of rum-flavoured syrup. Also shaking up the new menu is a Piña Colada Mess; Piña Colada ice cream served with caramelised pineapple salsa, crispy pineapple pieces and toasted coconut chips.
When it comes to cocktails, Las Iguanas has turned Happy Hour in to ‘Happy Days’ with all cocktails now available 2 for 1 all day, every day. Las Iguanas uses premium spirits in all its house creations, from the famous Brazilian cocktail the Caipirinha to a Mezcal Watermelon Smash, a winning combination of Olmeca Tequila, Bru-Xo Mezcal, watermelon, mint, cucumber and lime.
