The first ever Happy Bird, Bristol's new gourmet chicken concept is landing on Whiteladies Road at the end of the month
We all love chicken, and whilst Bristol certainly has no shortage of places to get your hands on some, there’s always room for more…
What the cluck….??!
Unit 8C at Clifton Down Shopping Centre is being transformed into a fresh, premium, fast-casual concept that’s no ordinary chicken shop.
Using high welfare, free-to-roam poultry which are grown for longer on the rolling Yorkshire hills, Happy Bird’s chickens feed on corn and a unique supplement of fresh herbs, to give them superior texture and flavour.
Happy Bird was founded on an obsession with the finest quality chicken that kicks ass when it comes to flavour and texture. Offered in a flexible format – have Happy Bird delivered to your home or workplace; grab and go or eat in.
Happy Bird Founder, Adam Batty explains a little about the company:
Why Happy Bird?
“We think great quality chicken, that tastes like chicken used to taste, should not be the exclusive preserve of a handful of the finest restaurants in the city. Fast, convenient chicken shouldn’t mean a deep fried, MSG crammed 4-week-old bird, factory-farmed in Thailand. You won’t find a zero welfare, tasteless bird grilled to high heaven, hiding behind a load of hot sauces here at Happy Bird. We believe the great Bristol public deserves better.”
“We love Bristol’s vibrant food scene and the way it champions ethical sourcing and independent food businesses. Whiteladies Road in Bristol is the obvious place to launch Happy Bird: a free-range chicken home delivery business, with the added flexibility of both grab and go and eat in.”
What is Happy Bird?
“It’s chicken your way. Choose from boneless or boned, naked or buttermilk fried chicken and a range of seven homemade sauces and healthy sides. The focus is on eating clean but we do indulgent too, because we want to give customers the choice,” Adam continued.
“We’ll be making all our own sauces. How about Appleteezer? A green chilli sauce with the zingy sweetness of sharp apples. Or the ultimate umami of the East, Gangnamee, fermented soy bean, chilli and sesame? The best chicken deserves the best sauces and accompaniments, with inspiration taken from around the world.”
“Once you’ve chosen your chicken and sauce, you can power up your poulet with a superfood salad, enjoy a protein picnic or keep it simple with rice in spice. We have curated an artisanal range of hard and soft drinks to perfectly complement our food and we offer some super lux shakes and healthy smoothies too.”
When does Happy Bird launch?
“Landing in late January – come and experience the dine-in vibe, grab and go or let Happy Bird deliver to your home or office with environmentally friendly push bikes or electric scooters. Happy Bird has been built with sustainability values at its heart.”
“Happy Bird is a completely fresh approach to chicken and we have one key aim – to provide the best chicken in town – but don’t take my word for it, come and try it yourself, come and have chicken your way!”, Adam concluded.
Open Monday – Sunday, 12pm – 11.00pm.
