Iconic skaters Torvill and Dean star in an exciting new production of Cinderella, just in time for Christmas...
It can feel like a tale as old as time, but there’s still a whole heap of magic in the story of Cinderella! This new, refreshing production sees iconic British ice dancers Torvill and Dean take to the stage for a new twist on a family favourite.
This enchanting pantomime features the award-winning duo become Cinderella’s fairy godparents, bringing sparkles to the stage and making jaws drop with their impressive and captivating routines!
The Olympians made us all fall in love with their mesmerising movements many years ago, but it’s testament to their enduring talents and effervescent personalities that they’re still household names long after they’d finished competing — now they’re bringing all that to Bristol to show the city once again why they’re held so close in our hearts.
The well-written show has drawn rave reviews — the Manchester Evening News calls it “a thrill from start to finish” — thanks to its novel take on a tried and tested formula. The script is bursting with laughs, and although it’s very much a family-friendly performance, there’s lots to keep the adults entertained.
Expect glitz, glamour and lots of big songs and plenty of dancing — plus real Shetland ponies! As well as all the usual belly laughs and jolly japes, there’s an extra sprinkling of fairy dust to make sure the whole family sees a show they’ll never forget.
Speaking earlier in the year, Jayne Torvill said: “This will be our first visit to The Bristol Hippodrome and we are very much looking forward to performing in the city. We’re already working on some brand new choreography which we hope will bring a whole lot more excitement to the wonderful Cinderella story and reworking some old favourites too.”
Christopher Dean added: “We’re really looking forward to bringing Cinderella to life on skates and spending the festive season in Bristol. We can’t wait for Christmas now!”
