There’s something to tickle everyone’s taste buds at this free event, writes Keri Beckingham
The South Gloucestershire Food and Drink Festival is returning to the Bristol and Bath Science Park for a weekend full of eating, drinking and merry-making!
Last year 22,000 people visited The Lawn, and were spoilt for choice with treats from delicious doughnuts and baked goods, to tasty Prosecco cocktails and perfect paella.
Now back for its second outing, this year’s festival is taking place on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 May from 10am to 4pm and is set to be even bigger and better. Featuring sumptuous street food from Greek souvlaki to pizzas, burgers and Thai noodles, and tantalising tipples from ABK Beer, Edinburgh Gin and Gillow Cider, make sure you come hungry!
A range of local bands such as Rock Choir, The Bad Dads and Richard Friend will provide fantastic live music during the day, and dad dancing is definitely encouraged! Plus there will also be entertainment for the little ones, and dogs are also welcome on leads, making it a great day out for the whole family!
In addition there will also be plenty of opportunities for shopping, with retailers such as Almondsbury Garden Centre, iCandy fudge, Riverford Organic Farmers and Silvafush Jewellery.
Getting to the festival from Bristol and beyond couldn’t be easier. The Bristol and Bath Science Park is located in Emersons Green, with close proximity to the motorway network and ring road, and car parking is available at the site. There is also a range of direct bus routes that stop next to the Science Park, including the m3 Metrobus route from the city centre, and the site can also be easily accessed from the nearby Bristol and Bath Railway Path and the Avon Cycle Way.
