St Peter's Hospice kicked off their summer party season in style at The Old Mail House pub in Staple Hill last weekend
Bristol’s only adult hospice is encouraging supporters to host their own fundraising event this summer, and showed the way with an action-packed afternoon and evening event.
Guests enjoyed a barbecue with mouth-watering meat and vegetarian food choices, games in the beer garden, face-painting, a raffle and live music until late in the night.
St Peter’s Hospice Community Fundraiser Esther Hall said: “Hosting a summer party is a great way to bring friends and family together to relax, have fun and enjoy some food and drink. There are so many ways to and we encourage people to be creative!”
“We would like to say thank you to The Old Mail House for donating 50p from every beer sold at the launch. We had so much fun and we hope the people of Bristol will too at their own parties.”
People are encouraged to hold their own parties across June, July and August to raise vital funds for St Peter’s Hospice, whether it is a garden party, BBQ, tea party, picnic or something else entirely.
Supporters can visit the St Peter’s Hospice website to gain inspiration and download packs including invitations, bunting and posters.
The hospice is hoping to raise £35,000 from their summer party campaign this year – this would pay for a Community Nurse Specialist for one year, enabling them to care for more patients in their own homes.
Community Nurse Specialists make all the difference for patients at a very difficult time for families. For every £600 raised, one more patient can receive care and support from a dedicated, specially trained nurse.
