Badminton School set to pioneer a new learning model

Badminton School

Badminton School offers a holistic approach to education, especially with its new two-year GCSE 9+ programme, which will start in September

“Our approach to GCSE study at Badminton is one that aims to provide pupils with a wide range of choices.” Says Headmistress Rebecca Tear.

“Personalised learning goes to the heart of academic study, allowing pupils to create their own tailored study programme. We believe that playing a role in creating your own tailored study programme is more likely to lead to greater engagement with study in the all-important GCSE years.

“We are now delighted to announce our two-year GCSE 9+ programme commencing in September, which will provide pupils with the opportunity to do something a little bit different alongside their GCSEs to develop core transferable skills or to embrace some creativity.”

Through our 9+ programme, pupils will:

  • All study Maths, English Language & Literature and two Sciences of their choice as a standard
  • Choose an additional four ‘options’ (the third Science can be one of the four)
  • Then choose a ‘plus’ option

The plus options currently include: HPQ (Higher Project Qualification), IGCSE Enterprise, IGCSE Global Perspective, GCSE Dance, GCSE Statistics, ICDL (International Certificate of Digital Literacy) and JACR Classical Greek.

Find out more about our new 9+ model during our Open Day on Monday, 2 May: Sign up online.
