Badminton are delighted to announce that four of their Year 8 girls have been invited to the Regional Final of the Cyber First Girls Competition. The competition is aimed at Year 8 girls in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

The original competition was run on the Government Communications Headquarters’ website where Badminton’s team was placed 43rd in the country out of 3,389 teams from 841 schools. This is an outstanding achievement and they are extremely proud of Yijing, Ruth, Sabrina and Anjali.

Each question the girls answered were derived from skills used every day by Cyber Security professionals and can be answered using techniques that are readily available on the internet.

“The girls showed persistence and exceptional teamwork through the whole project and their hard work and determination payed off with the excellent result,” commented Ms Ellis, Head of Computing.
