Join over 10,000 people for an active, scenic event
The Simplyhealth Great Bristol Half Marathon is returning to the city this Autumn, with over 10,000 people expected to step up to the challenge.
The event, which takes place on Sunday 17 September, features a 13.1 mile course that is steeped in history and makes the most of Bristol’s picturesque backdrop.
The Simplyhealth Bristol Half Marathon has become a long-held tradition in the sporting calendar, starting and finishing in Bristol’s historic harbourside.
The sea-level route takes thousands of runners along the stunning Avon Gorge, passing under the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge twice.
All runners will then return to the city centre and cross the finish line on Anchor Road, cheered on by the welcoming crowds.
This year, the event has teamed up with the Affordable Art Fair to create a bespoke t-shirt featuring an exclusive design from renowned local artist Alex Lucas, which all finishers will receive in their finisher’s packs.
Alex’s distinctive design features a cartoon bear taking part in the event, victoriously leaping over the Clifton Suspension Bridge.
For new runners just starting out, completing a half marathon can seem like an impossible task but at 13.1 miles, this scenic event is do-able without feeling like training is taking over your life. So if you’re looking to set yourself a challenge why not step up to the Simplyhealth Great Bristol Half Marathon this September.
