Come down to The Ivy clifton Brasserie for an exciting new range of cocktails, designed especially for this weekend

To celebrate the return of The Other Art Fair this weekend on Friday 1st - Sunday 3rd September, The Ivy Clifton Brasserie has concocted a new range of cocktails inspired by works of art at the Fair.

Visitors to the iconic restaurant can try three limited edition cocktails that have been created based on artworks by Dawn Reader and Lynn Keddie; the Wild at Heart Martini, Patterns of the Snow and The Bee & The Butterfly.

The Wild at Heart Martini is inspired by Dawn Reader’s seascape paintings, created using London No.1 blue gin mixed with Vermouth to create a classic Martini. Dawn’s oil on canvas work captures the stillness and tranquility of the sea, with the clear blue gin mimicking the calm sea and pickled onion the pebbled beach.

Dawn’s winter landscape has also inspired a second cocktail, Patterns in the Snow, made using Snow Queen vodka. Mixed with lavender syrup, vanilla vodka, Koko Kanu coconut rum and topped with a sprig of lavender, the cocktails clear and crisp taste reflects the calm winter morning captured in the piece.

From Lynn Keddie’s wildflower meadow the Ivy has created The Bee & The Butterfly cocktail. The refreshing cocktail is created with elderflower, fresh lemon and mint recreating the wild garden meadow from the piece. Inspired by the Wiltshire countryside she has lived in for the past 20 years, Lynn paints mainly in oil on canvas to capture the energy and beauty of nature.

Each cocktail will be available at the Clifton Brasserie this week and over the Fair weekend, and with every cocktail buyers will receive an exclusive invitation to The Other Art Fair’s private view on the Friday night to get the first look at the artists exhibiting at the Fair.

The Other Art Fair returns to the Arnolfini for the third Bristol edition with an incredible line-up of 80 emerging artists. Artists from Bristol and across the UK will come together at this pioneering event, meeting potential buyers face-to-face to create a social, relaxed atmosphere which makes the fair particularly appealing to first-time art buyers.

The artist line-up joins a special programme of interactive and immersive special features including a touring collaborative colouring board, the Cardboard Castle, the Guardian’s virtual reality experience, ‘First Impressions’, an interactive poetry feature, a politically charged VW- turned-linocut printing machine, a hand-poked tattoo experience, an artistic installation in a skip, courtesy of Skip Gallery and six films from Encounters film festival.

Tickets for The Other Art Fair are on sale now and can be purchased from bristol.theotherartfair.com. Children under 16 are free to attend and tickets are available to be booked in advance at theotherartfair.com.
