Banff Mountain Film Festival stops at Bristol this spring for a selection of adrenaline-packed adventure flicks
Banff Mountain Film Festival makes an exciting stop in Bristol, with two packed programmes of adrenaline-fuelled cinematic action to leap into! This celebration of outdoor and adventure films is rammed with stunning visual spectacles that are sure to ignite the wild wanderer inside you...
The main festival, held every November in Banff, Canada since 1975, draws many of the planet’s finest film-makers and explorers all looking to display their talents and show off unique sights. Following the “mothership” event each year, a travel-sized edition of the fest gears up and travels to 40 different countries for a world tour — and this is what’s descending on the city’s Victoria Rooms!
Every day of the festival features excitement and highlights aplenty, but some of the most intriguing visuals come from Vladimir Cellier, whose Metronomic pits music and poetry against the forces of nature in a white-knuckle ride full of energy.
Malcolm Sangster’s life-affirming Max Your Days and Simon Tucker’s inspiring Four Mums In A Boat are also must-sees!
The festival is rife with adventure, with films following thrill-seekers to the French Alps, Papua New Guinea’s rainforests, Nepal, Alaska, Tasmania’s iconic Totem Pole, Scotland, Norway, Mexico and more! You’ll be travelling the world without ever leaving your seat.
This year the festival is holding its own People’s Choice awards — so make sure you get voting once you’ve experienced the flicks! You’ll also be entered into a prize draw when you vote, with a chance to get your mits on some merchandise and tickets for next year’s festival.
Each evening is just £13.50 (£12 concessions or if booking in a group of six or more), and if you want to see both you can get a discount pass for £24. Be sure to visit banff-uk.com for a full list of the films showing each evening.
