A very special person is joining the Hubbox team...

Alex Reilley, co-founder and chairman of Loungers, has joined the board of Hubbox as non-executive chairman. He joins the independent burger and hotdog restaurant business founded and led by Richard Boon, as it grows its estate to twenty sites over the next four years.

West Country-based Hubbox, launched in St Ives, Cornwall in 2003, recently opened its sixth site on Whiteladies Road in Bristol in the former Las Iguanas restaurant. The group is on track to post turnover of £6m in its current financial year (y/e Dec 2017) and ten sites are planned by the end of 2018.

Hubbox CEO Richard Boon said, "Being a Bristol boy I have followed and admired the growth of Loungers from the outset. I was lucky to meet Alex and to find he was also a Hubbox fan. I have often used him as a sounding board and his advice has always been clear and on point. With Alex as chairman we have now formalised this arrangement. His guidance will be invaluable in our next stage of growth.  I look forward to working with him and we are all delighted to have him on board.”

Speaking of his new role with Hubbox, Alex Reilley comments, "I have been a Hubbox customer for the last six years. I've got to know Richard very well during that time. The Hubbox proposition is very strong. The foundations of a well-structured management team led by Richard are in place, and he is clear about the brand’s direction. The funding for continued growth was secured In January this year when Hubbox received a £2.2m investment from Provenance Investment Partners.  And the business is supported by a knowledgeable, enthusiastic board which makes this an exciting business to be involved with”.

Current Hubbox non-executive chairman Mark Harper will remain on the board as a non-executive director.
