This striking apartment on Royal York Crescent is simply regal, writes Sammy Milton

The striking curve of Royal York Crescent has long been one of the most sought-after addresses in the South West. And it’s not hard to see why – this iconic row of houses snakes around the upmost terrace of Bristol, gazing out across the city, harbour and beyond.

Upon entering the pretty ground floor property, you are immediately struck by the modern, classy touches that adorn every inch of the home, cleverly incorporated with traditional period features.

The huge open-plan living space is quite a sight – light floods in through double-height windows that look out to the garden, and there’s stripped wooden flooring throughout mixing beautifully with the lovely fireplace and high ceilings. A cool and airy space, it is ideal for relaxing in the evening or entertaining with friends. The living room provides the beating heart of the home – the rest of the rooms can be found both off and above it.

The kitchen is off to the right. A wonderful space, it is well lit and well equipped, with fitted base units and storage in the form of wooden shelving. There’s more wood incasing the worktops, handy ceiling spotlights, a stainless steel sink and drainer and an oven with hobs over.

The bathroom can be found just next door, complete with a bath with shower over, WC, wash basin, solid oak flooring and more of those trendy ceiling spotlights.

A further two rooms can be found to the other end of the living room. One a gorgeous study, it’s a great area to have if you work from home, or simply need a space to call your own. There’s a radiator and a gas mounted boiler to keep you cosy in the colder months and it leads directly onto the second bedroom at the rear of the house through glazed French doors.

This bedroom is bright and spacious, with high ceilings and the agreeable bonus of doors that lead out onto the garden. There’s plenty of room for a double bed, with space left over for storage or anything else you fancy!

The other bedroom can be accessed via stairwells from the second bedroom or living room. Featuring natural light and more of those glorious period features such as ceiling cornicing, it looks out over the living area downstairs, and is of a simple, yet effective layout.

The rear garden is a real treat. Featuring a mix of lawn, brick wall, timber lap and willow-fenced borders, it is quiet and private, offering the perfect little sun trap to relax in this summer.

You’re close to the best that Clifton has to offer. Clifton Village itself is just round the corner, with its mix of eclectic bars, cafes and restaurants, and you’re a short stroll away from the area of Hotwells and Bristol’s Harbourside. There’s plenty of bus links, and Clifton Down Station isn’t far either, giving you immediate access to the city centre, Temple Meads Station and much, much more!
