Where these girls can
With so many things to think about, choosing the right school for your daughter can be a difficult decision. Nestled in a quiet residential neighbourhood of North West Bristol, Redmaids’ High is an independent day school for girls aged 4 to 18.
It is smaller than most infant and primary schools, with a warm, family atmosphere and a varied and exciting timetable. Its specialism in teaching girls also remains a priority for many.
A small number of girls start in Reception but Year 3 remains a natural entry point for many, providing a fresh start following infant schooling and new impetus to their Key Stage 2 learning. A rich curriculum, coupled with an extensive programme of horizon-stretching clubs, and a caring, aspirational environment, develops the girls into truly confident pupils.
Outdoor education encourages self-discovery, teamwork and problem-solving, and talents are further discovered through STEM activities such as robotics, science workshops and maths competitions.
Parents value the flexible drop-off and pick-up arrangements between 7.30am and 6pm, and can rest assured knowing their daughters are fully occupied with planned clubs and other activities until going home time.
Meet Mrs Lisa Brown, Headteacher of Redmaids’ High Junior School, and other staff and girls at their Visiting Morning on Thursday 1 February.
Mrs Downing, mother of Mabel, Year 3 commented: “Mabel has only been at Redmaids’ High for a couple of months but is thriving and has a sparkle and level of confidence she simply didn’t have before. She’s had her eyes opened to all sorts of new things and practically fizzes every day.”
