Explore the rich and varied world of chocolate this month at a special festival…
Taste Chocolate is an exciting two-day event coming to Bristol’s Harbour Hotel just in time for Easter.
The festival is dedicated to all aspects of the good stuff, with a huge range of exhibitors showcasing their creations and a lip-smacking itinerary of chocolate-themed events and demonstrations to get involved with!
One of the most intriguing events on offer is Origin: The Multisensory Chocolate Experience. Created by local storytellers and “gastronomy experimenters” Understory, this is a unique experience that blends the worlds of theatre, tasting and psychology. Using art, tarot, music and more, Origin will explore how various outside influences can alter the taste of chocolate — it’s a fascinating excursion into the world of flavour.
Over 30 different stalls and stands will be attending the fest, with everything you could envision available to try — from your usual fare, such as artisan chocolates, fudges, crepes and cakes, to more unusual treats and dietary specialities… expect intriguing drinks, eye-popping bakes, liqueurs, ice cream and more! There’s something for everyone here, and, of course, there’s plenty of Easter eggs and goodies to explore as well…
The Chocolate Theatre plays host to a selection of some of the region’s finest chocolatiers, chefs and producers, who will be entertaining you across the two days with cookery demonstrations, talks and more.
On top of all that, there’s a Prosecco bar to help quench your thirst, a chocolate Easter treasure hunt by Divine and a dedicated exhibition focusing on the history of chocolate and its story in Bristol — after all, the city was home to some of chocolate’s most important figures, such as Elizabeth Shaw and J. S. Fry & Sons.
This is an exciting weekend chock-full of things to see and do for the whole family — what better way to mark Easter than with a fun day out exploring everyone’s favourite sweet treat?
